The Samsung Galaxy S24 series has shown strong market performance. Recently, according to South Korean media reports, Samsung’s smartphone and tablet production exceeded expectations by 22% in the first quarter of 2024. According to Thelec, Samsung predicts a shipment volume of 53 million smartphones and tablets in the first quarter of this year. However, according to data statistics, Samsung’s actual shipment volume in the first quarter of this year was 65.4 million units, exceeding the forecast target by 22%. Moreover, the actual shipment volume data mentioned in the article does not include Galaxy devices manufactured by third-party contractor Wentai Technology. Thelec analyzed this phenomenon and said that Samsung’s excellent sales performance this year is largely attributed to the Galaxy S24 series’s strategy of prioritizing artificial intelligence in marketing and strengthening the promotion of low-cost models in India. In addition, it was mentioned in the report that due to strong demand, the Samsung display factory that provides OLED panels for Samsung smartphones and tablets has seen an increase in operating rates this year. According to sources, the current operating rate of the Samsung Display A2 production line, which produces rigid OLED panels for the Galaxy A series, is as high as 80%. Previously, there were reports that Samsung had raised its sales target for the Galaxy S24 in the first quarter of this year due to its impressive sales performance as soon as it was launched. Samsung originally planned to sell 12 million Galaxy S24 series phones in the first quarter of this year, but later raised the target to 13 million units. At present, the total sales of the Galaxy S24 series are 8% higher than the total sales of the Galaxy S23 series. Samsung’s goal this year is to ship 253 million smartphones, of which 51 million are Galaxy S series and foldable screen models, 158 million are mid-range models such as A series, and 44 million are ODM models.
