On April 17th, according to Interface News, the first batch of Huawei Pura70 series new machines has been distributed in multiple locations. A Guangdong dealer journalist said that due to production capacity constraints, the first order distribution volume of the Pura70 series is much more sufficient than that of the Mate60 series, but it is still lower than the previous flagship models. Among the goods he received, the Pura70 standard version had the largest quantity, followed by the Lezhen version, and the Pro version had the most tight distribution. The above dealers predict that due to the significant price difference between the P series and the Mate series in previous years, if we refer to the starting price of 5499 yuan for the Mate60 series, the starting price of Pura70 is about 5000 yuan, which is higher than the previous P series. The busiest promotional periods in the mobile phone industry throughout the year are the Spring Festival and summer, and March to April after the Spring Festival is often the off-season. Therefore, dealers generally see Pura70 as a hope to stimulate the market. Dealers are most concerned about the magnitude and cycle of the Pura70 premium, which is closely related to the profits they can obtain. The above dealers have judged that due to more sufficient supply, the premium situation of Pura70 will not be higher than Mate60. However, due to the use of Huawei’s self-developed Kirin chip, as well as the brand new design and imaging functions, he is still optimistic about the future sales of the Pura70. According to Guo Minggui, an analyst at Tianfeng International Securities, the shipment volume of Huawei’s P70 series is expected to increase by 230% year-on-year in 2024, reaching 13 to 15 million units. Even if demand slows down, shipments are expected to increase by 150% year-on-year, reaching 10 to 12 million units. At present, Huawei’s offline stores have fully started accepting Pura70 blind orders. In order to stimulate sales, stores across the country have provided multiple booking subsidies. According to the reporter’s understanding, blind bookings in stores vary in different regions, ranging from a few to a dozen or so units. The Pura70 is also a key battle for Huawei to return to the peak of the mobile phone market. This company has put its mobile phone business back on track with the Mate60 series released last year and successfully squeezed into the top five market share in the first quarter of this year. Huawei insiders revealed that this year’s goal is to return to the top spot. Another noteworthy change is that Huawei specifically changed the name of the P series before the release of the new device, replacing it with the new word “Pura”, corresponding to another high-end flagship series “Mate”. Some analysts believe that in addition to emphasizing a high-end and minimalist brand image, the renaming is also aimed at preparing for going global. Based on Huawei’s past pace of distribution, the release date of the new machine will be in the next few days. “We are fully preparing for the 18th,” said a dealer.
